About Autism

About Autism

1Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorder in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a group of developmental disabilities that can cause significant social, communication and behavioral challenges and in our country today 1 in 36 children have an ASD.

  • 4% of boys 8 years of age
  • 1% of girls 8 years of age

The overall ASD prevalence per 1,000 children aged 8 years was 27.6 (one in 36)

Although ABA therapy can help to improve difficulties with communication, social interactions and problem behaviors at any age early intervention is critical as the brain’s ability to learn new skills decreases with age. So the earlier treatment is begun the more likely we are to see quick change and long-term overall success!

Our Services

Applied Behavior Analysis

Our Applied Behavior Analysis is structured technique with an emphasis on a naturalistic environment that breaks down skills into small, “discrete” components.

Speech Therapy

Autism can affect speech, language development, and social communication in many ways. Speech-language therapy is designed to coordinate the mechanics of speech with the meaning and social use of language.

Occupational Therapy

Many ASD children have sensory processing challenges, this can lead to difficulties with social interaction, communication, behaviors and fine motors skills. OT’s focus on helping children integrate their sensory systems and sustain purposeful play.

Music Therapy

Music therapy is a well-established professional health discipline that uses music to achieve non-musical treatment goals. Research indicates that Music therapy is a particularly important intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders.
